Coaches
Lorrie Horne - Head Coach
Lorrie Horne was elected into the Ringette Canada Hall of Fame in the Coaching category in 2008. Lorrie was Head Coach of ringette’s Team Canada 2002 and 2004, has traveled a long road of coaching success. She held the helm for Team Canada 2002, which brought home the gold for Canada for the first time since 1996. At the 2004 World Championships, Team Canada brought home the silver while in the 2000 World Championships, Horne was the Coach for the U.S.A National Ringette Team that won Bronze. In the 1999-2000 ringette season, she head coached the Kerava Shakers in Finland’s National League where she took her team from 12th to a 6th place playoff spot, something that the Shakers had never done. In her home province of Alberta, Horne assisted with the 1999 Canada Winter Games Team and continues to work with local clubs mentoring coaches and assisting in athlete development.
Lorrie Horne knows the game of ringette. She has played and coached the game for 23 years including 2 years in the Finnish National League. Horne is regarded as one of the top women’s coaches in the nation. Her work ethic and dedication to the sport of ringette are second to none. She has made an outstanding contribution to the development of athletes at all levels of ringette in Canada. She has coached at numerous summer camps and clinics catering both to the grassroots and elite level ringette athletes across the country. Horne is a credible role model to her athletes, earning their respect for her technical knowledge of the game and her calm, cerebral approach to coaching. In her position as Team Canada’s head Coach 2002 and 2004 program, she was able to promote ringette and the art and science of coaching through her work with various organizations. Horne take her athletic coaching ability tough a smooth transition into the corporate arena, assisting companies in building strong, cohesive, productive teams through her company, The People Coach Inc.
Donna Stewart - Powerskating Coach
Donna Stewart is a skater that who was born on her blades. Coach Stewart is known as one of the best power and agility skating coaches in Alberta. She has a 27-year proven teaching record that consistently produces results and improvements for skaters of all ages and abilities through her innovative teaching methodologies. Coach Stewart is the director, designer and head instructor the Lorrie Horne’s Future Champions skating programs. If you want to learn from the best, Coach Stewart will lead the way! Put your best skate forward on the ice this summer!

Jen Rogers is the founder of Power To Be Fitness which specializes in athletic development and fitness program design.
